Helpful Tips for Newbies

School

School gives you lots of xp, fame, ships, money and port permits. It's always a good idea to complete all three classes at the beginner and the Intermediate schools before treking out into the unknown or moving to the Advanced School. Each Class completion will award you with a free ship and various other useful items. At Advanced School we advise that you complete only two classes until you are either level 30 in one profession or have a total of 50 in Levels across the board as this will protect you from attack from Player Pirates. It is highly recommended that you keep your school uniform until you complete school because it has all the stats necessary to finish your courses. If you discard it, you will need to find other ways to increase your formality and disguise enough to accomplish various tasks.

Oxford University

Once you are level 5 in all three areas ie: Adventure, Trade & Battle, it is advisable to begin college at Oxford. Travel via the carriage in London. Unlike School, college runs alongside anything else you are doing at the time and with each Thesis submission will give you access to skill bonuses that will be useful.

Money!

Money makes the world go 'round so here are a few helpful tips. The Company Administration Building in your company's home town can be used to place up to 3 items at a time for sale, with commision on the sales being deducted when you place the items for sale. You can also place items into your personal bazaar and make sales while you go about your regular business. Once you have an aide that can stay in your quarters, you can also use an aide to sell things in a bazaar for you.

Farm

You can own your own farm and receive free goods and services! There are 4 different farms to choose from, each one producing different products. Contact Shiver in game if you need a farm and/or advice as to which one is the right one for you. It is recommended that you start your farm as soon as possible as it will need daily work for it to reach its full potential.

Fame & XP

Money isn't the only thing important in this game. Experience and Fame are needed just as much, if not more. You should change your job frequently to maximize the amount of xp and fame you are getting from your activities. If you are selling high priced items or grinding away at producing products you should be in a merchant job that also favours the skills you will be using. Always match your job to the work you will be doing.

Shipwrecks

Shipwrecks often produce useful items as well as goods that can be sold. You will collect shipwreck maps from various activities within the game, such as Speaking with NPC's, Fishing, and Battles both on land and sea. Once you have collected the necessary amount of maps, a larger map will be shown via the shipwreck button from the drop down menu. If you don't have the Salvage skill you will need to get some Salvage ropes and 1 or 2 Haul ropes to raise the wreck. If you have an aide put them in the Lookout Job to help locate the wreck when you are in the correct waters. Ask for help if needed.
